Editorial Review for Raging Burrito – by Michael Longshore The Scene Thanks to its relaxed atmosphere, reliable flavors, full bar and late-night hours, this upscale burrito joint has become a lively Decatur Square fixture. Two patios--a small sidewalk space in front and a much larger enclosed space in back--are popular in fair weather. Inside is a mix of rehabilitated brick, exposed ductwork and groovy light fixtures. Service is neighborly and good-natured, if occasionally unfocused.
The Food A self-proclaimed "international taqueria," this souped-up burrito joint features a range of new-age specialties, like the Bangkok burrito or the Jamaican jerk, as well as quesadillas and chips, salsa and queso. It also sports a full bar, an excellent beer selection and late-night snacks at the attached Azul Blue Bar. Despite many customization options, the "Raging specialties" (chipotle BBQ, Jamaican jerk) tend to be beans-and-rice happy. The "build-your-own" option--especially the "Raging Monster"--is the best choice. Editorial content is independent of paid advertisers. Any expenses are paid for by Citysearch. User Reviews for Raging Burrito 05/02/2008 Posted by johnzzzzzz Raging burrito has my favorite tacos(baja fish is my favorite) and the best margaritas and patio in town. This is what my wife and I look for in casual dining. Great food with friendly service at a good price, The relaxed garden patio makes raging burrito a place I miss the most in atlanta(actually decatur) when I am on my regular travels for business. Pros: festive patio, huge menu Cons: very busy on fri nights Response from this business Thanks alot for your compliments! Sorry fridays have been so crazy busy Posted on 06/11/2008 We are trying to have alot more staff working on friday nights now. It can still get very crazy though when everyone comes in at once because we have 120 seats inside and 150 on our back patio. Thanks for understanding! 02/29/2008 Posted by samhammond I was just reading the reviewer below and saw the person, who wrote its history of not liking any where he or she has eaten. I happen to be of the exact opposite opinion of you. Raging Burrito is my families favorite casual restaurant in Atlanta. We have been going since they opened in decatur in 1999.It has excellent service and strong margaritas and alot of good beers on tap. I cannot get enough of their fish tacos!! I also enjoy all the other decatur places adecaturite dislikes so intensely. If the person hates that all the decatur families go out on friday night why not go eat in another part of town on that night or just consider moving. I have lived in decatur for 15 years and I love it. Go eat at all the places this person hates. They are all great! I would avoid friday nights though because the kids are let loose to run wild around all of these resturants. Pros: validated parking, the best food and drinks Cons: there needs to be a location downtown near my work When you're on the square in Decatur (and even when you're not) and have a craving for some out-of-the-ordinary taqueria fare, the Raging Burrito is the place... read more
